Cool '67 Ludwig Champagne sparkle....

I recently came across a 1967 Ludwig Champagne sparkle kit. I used the Ludwig website to date the shells by the badge numbers and verified the date.....but there seems to be some construction differences between my kit and what the Ludwig site says.......for example, the kick drum has 10 lugs each side and the Ludwig site says for this year it should have 8 each side. Also, the floor tom should have had a natural unfinished interior, and it came with a matching painted interior. I am wondering if this was a custom made kit or what.......Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction.

Am no expert by any means, but I believe that if the BD has 10 lugs per side then it is a 22" Classic model...while a 20" Down Beat BD has 8 lugs per side instead (like on my original '64 kit's bass drum).

As to the floor tom's interior...it should have been painted white as all of my Ludwig toms were (14" and 16" pre-serial floor, 14" floor and 12" rack toms circa '64, plus 13" rack tom circa '68), and even my pre-serial 13" silve sparkle piccolo snare drum shell's interior was painted white.
However, that is not to say that Ludwig did not wind up mixing painted and unpainted toms with some of their kits prior to the KB--B/O badge transition; is a very strong possibility of that being the case with your '67 drum set...
