Here is an exceptional snare, ultra rare…

The brand :
Adolphe CIRICHELLI would have started to make drums in 1908, and created the IMPERATOR MONDUS brand in the 30s... But before IMPERATOR MONDUS, Adolphe CIRICHELLI was associate to create CIRICHELLI CONSOL & Co in the 20's... Adolphe CIRICHELLI was Jacques CAPELLE grandfather's, who manufactured CAPELLE drums until 2010, but also ORANGE drums in the 70s ...
The marquetry snare was the most luxurious and the most expensive to this era, and only wealthy musicians could buy it !

The snare drum:
This snare drum has no badge, so it dates from the period A. Cirichelli (early 20) or CIRICHELLI CONSOL & Cie (late 20), but it dates from 20's ... 36cm (14.2’’) x 12cm (4.7’’), 3 plys shell (steam bending patent filed by A. Cirichelli in 1926) and 30° bearing edge without re ring. 12 nickel-plated brass tub lugs, there were missed 2 claws (replaced by original claws), 2 rods (replaced by new machined rods), as well as the incomplete throw off (replaced by original throw). The hoops were too damaged to be restored, they had to be redone and all the snare drum was varnished as my client wanted. The marquetry models were the high end of this brand, luxury instruments, this snare is a beautiful testimony of the roaring twenties in France...

and it went back to the Netherlands to his happy owner : "You did such a great job. It's a true beauty. I totally fall in love with this snare. Thanks again for the superb restoration, I could not imagine that it would turn out like this! So beautiful. Amazing !!! "...

A bientôt,

Emmanuel
