  • No February or March Issues.

  • Email subscriber list cleaned of those who don’t open the emails

  • Chicago Drum Show - No NSMD booth this year but DrumWrapper will be there

  • Looking for volunteers to help with NSMD tech and writing….

*In case you haven’t noticed, there were no February and March issues emailed. Extensive re-modeling of the websites, email programs and other tech changes caused this down time. Do you like the new layout? This website’s provider, Squarespace, has added email marketing, making the whole process more integrated (and making my life much easier). More improvements and new features will be evident in the near future.

*Important - I cleaned the NSMD email list of all subscribers that have not opened any issues in the last twelve months. It costs to send emails through an email service. If you received this particular email, you are still on the list, so no worries. If you know anyone who did not receive this via email and was removed from the list, let them know to go to www.notsomoderndrummer.com to re-subscribe for free.

*Not So Modern Drummer will not have a booth at the Chicago Drum Show this May. We had been planning on it but my gig conflicts nixed it (Dang gigs!). BUT our DrumWrapper machine for putting new plastic finishes on shells WILL be at the show in Billy Baker’s and Mark Good’s booth. Also, many of our writers will be in attendance.

*Not So Modern Drummer is looking for remote volunteers to help with:
1. Website maintenance / social media / HTML coding / other IT chores. This would require some experience in those areas and could turn into paid work for the right person.
2.  Past articles and back issue organization; putting all articles since the beginning (1988) on the website. This is basic cut and paste & click a few buttons type work that would require nothing more than basic computer skills and an interest in drum history.
3. Writing. We are interested in your knowledge and experiences. To submit articles and ideas that fall within our niche of vintage drums, custom drums and legendary drummers, email me at george@notsomoderndrummer.com

Thanks, now go practice! George Lawrence
