Dino Danelli – The Renaissance Man - Chapter 2 - Additional Album Cover Designs and Concepts

December 30, 2023 David Barsalou

“ The phrase ‘Renaissance Man’ was defined by Giovanni Boccaccio in 14th century Italy – It was the ideal person who is well-versed in multiple fields of study… Skilled in the arts and related disciplines, and who is able to accomplish many things, and to perfect himself in various different fields.”

After The Rascals’ breakup, Dino Danelli and guitarist Gene Cornish formed the group ‘Bulldog’… They had a minor hit with the song, ‘NO’. Once again, Dino conceptualized and rendered the album cover designs.

“I really like this album, I remember hearing the song "No" on the radio. Reminds me a lot of Dr. Hook.” -Choochtown

In 1978, and 79’ Dino Danelli designed three Atlantic Records album covers for his new group, ‘Fotomaker’ which was formed with fellow ‘Rascal’ - guitarist Gene Cornish. Their music focused on ‘American Power Pop’ – Sadly, ‘Fotomaker’ only lasted a couple of years, breaking up in 1980.
