A special limited edition version of Buddy Rich’s best-selling live album ‘Birdland’ will be released July 21, 2023 featuring an exclusive translucent red vinyl. The original 2015 black vinyl LP’s have continuously sold out through multiple pressings. This new LP will temporarily replace the original renditions.

Featuring Buddy Rich and his Killer Force Band... At the time, Buddy and his group were at the peak of their careers. The new album will feature a 180-gram audiophile translucent red vinyl collector’s edition by Lightyear Entertainment and Lobitos Creek Ranch, in association with Scabeba Entertainment and the Buddy Rich Estate. The original “Birdland” album appears in the Academy Award winning film “Whiplash,” being held in the hands of actor Miles Teller as jazz drummer Andrew who idolizes Buddy Rich.Buddy’s daughter, Cathy Rich was a consultant on the “Whiplash” film and is presently touring with the Buddy Rich Big Band Machine, featuring drummer Gregg Potter.
