Hello everyone, this month we take a look at this rare and incredible 1927 Ludwig Drums and Accessories 1st Edition Catalog. Since it is an early edition it is also in the very large format of 9” x 12”.
This catalog has the distinct bonus feature of William F. Ludwig Jr.’s signature from 1988 on page one!
It has some beautiful graphics inside, including color pictures of the Black Beauty “Ludwig Deluxe Model” and the “New Ludwigold Irridescent Display Finish” (purposely or not, they misspelled iridescent). I believe this is the first time this particular finish appears in any catalog.
The catalog is eighty pages long, not including covers or liner page, and is chock full of amazing drums, instruments and percussion related items from near 100 years ago!
