1960s Slingerland Zildjian Buddy Rich all in one!

May 30, 2025 Edward Tucker

This month I thought I would start highlighting some of our vast collection of vintage drum non-drum items, rare dealer only, store displays, famous owned pieces and the like.

Today starts with this extraordinary survivor.

Being beyond excited is an understatement.

I have been working to acquire this phenomenal piece for a long time. Now that it’s in our archive, it is nothing short of amazing to me.

We believe this massive 30“ x 40“ hardboard piece was used at Buddy’s shows in the 1960s as a welcoming playbill on or near the stage. The fact that it combines and promotes Slingerland, Zildjian and Buddy Rich on one incredible stop-in-your-tracks display is understatedly impressive. The condition, almost like new, is quite extraordinary, considering it’s survived near 60 years.

This will have a very special permanent home here.

 Stay tuned…
