From Editor George Lawrence

When it rains it pours. This issue is late because I am trying to spin too many plates in the air at one one time. I was on the road last week with a big band, my wife Georgetta and I are packing up and moving to another house five blocks away AND I have a three day out of town recording session the first of next week. Whew! So the move is to a nicer and smaller house on a quiet street. But we have 10 pounds of stuff to put in that 5 pound box. We will be so busy trying to sort out what to take and what not to take. But we have needed to down size for a long time and this is an excellent situation that came up suddenly and we jumped on it. Sooo… this is going to have to suffice for the July AND August issue. The next issue will be sent the last week of September. Our email magazine publishing dates are at the end of the month.

Closing down the business. There may be another email going out after the middle of this month with listings for the remainder of my inventory left over after forty years in the drum shop and internet drum sales business; George’s Drum Shop, DrumSellers.com. This move is forcing me to liquidate it all after putting it off for a long time. Hoarder mentality, I know. I just watched the scrapper guy haul off boxes and boxes of metal parts, stands, hoops, etc. that are the bottom of the barrel stuff that just never sold. We are having a yard sale on 8/16 and 17. Whatever drum and cymbal inventory left over after that will be listed in that email, so keep an eye out for it. Most of it is up on DrumSellers.com already. I’m only keeping what I use for gigs and sessions. I also will not be teaching at the new house. No room. All my lessons will be taught at Memphis Drum Shop.
