The Famous Drum Co. introduced the “Celebrity” snare drum at the Chicago Drum Show in May 2021 and will be giving one away in a prize contest on July 4. The Celebrity is the newest addition to the Famous line of super high-end snare drums and combines several classic designs to create a modern snare drum with the enhanced sound, sensitivity and appearance demanded by history’s most legendary drummers. Celebrity features include:
• A traditional, hand-made, steam-bent, single-ply maple shell with maple reinforcing rings.
• A dual-tension snare strainer system with extended length, German metal snare wires.
• 2.3 mm, triple-flanged, chrome-over-brass counterhoops.
• Vintage-style “Beavertail” lugs in configurations including 3.5˝ center mounted , or 2.5˝ center mounted or individual top and bottom lugs.
Handcrafted by master drum builders, the Famous Celebrity snare drum is available in a choice of 5.5˝, 6.5˝, 7˝ and 8˝ by 14˝ models with clear lacquer or genuine Delmar® solid, pearl or sparkle finishes.
