Hi,

These two drums came from my good friend and fellow collector Mark Cooper. Mark passed away last year and I miss his friendship, sense of humor and the great drum deals that we did over the last 15+ years. I was able to get some great snare drums from Mark. Rest in peace my friend.

NOB Slingerland Broadcasters and nob Radio Kings are little harder to find than the pearl finished models.

1935-36? SLINGERLAND 6.5 x 14 NOB BROADCASTER MODEL

1936- SLINGERLAND 6.5 x 14 NOB RADIO KING MODEL

Basically the same drums but here are a few differences. You will see these differences in the attached photos:

1.Tapped lugs on the Broadcaster vs. lugs with inserts on the Radio King.

2. Chrome plating only on the Broadcaster lugs and nickel plating on the rest of the hardware. We have seen this a number of times and it still bugs me but that’s what Slingerland did in those days.

3. Three-hole snare bridges on the Broadcaster vs two-hole snare bridges on the RK.

4, Butt plate side on the Broadcaster differs from the butt plate on the RK.

5. Different tone control models and placement of tone controls.

Enjoy!
