Hello,
My name is Rich Cuellar from Portland OR and I bought a drum from a local drum store that I was hoping you might help me get some info on. The little bit I’ve been able to find is that it was made in 1941 and has a rare black badge. Bun E. Carlos thought it was made post WWII? Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi Rich, the throw-off/strainer is model # 339 which was produced from 1939-1950. The badge is from 1940s. It would have to be post war because it had too much metal on it that would have been a violation of the 10% metal war restriction. The straight hoops and clips are throwing me. Go with whatever Bun E says. He knows more about Ludwig than God. I might post this in Not So Modern Drummer if you dont mind.

Drummingly,
George Lawrence
