I am selling one of my prize possessions. This is an extremely rare drum set. The Renown 57s came in five lacquer finishes. The motor city red finish was only made in 2012. They are extremely hard to find. There are a few orphan singles out there but very hard to piece together for a full set. The first three pictures are from the internet - stock images. I’ll be taking pics of my actual drums soon. The sizes are 18x22 and 14x18 bass drums, 8x10 and 8x12 mounted toms, 14x14 floor tom and a 6.5 x 14 snare drum. I had been hunting for a 16x16 floor tom and the matching throne but never found them. I ended up buying a 16 renown 57 in a dark brown finish just to have four toms. My set is in near perfect condition. There are some minor scratches but you’d have to look very close to see them. I have cases for all of them - heavy duty vinyl cases. The bass cases have wheels. There is a double tom holder and a single tom holder, and a Dixson bass drum lift. Price? $5000 including cases or $5000 even if you don’t take the cases. plus shipping. I will not be selling individual drums. These are first generation Renowns before they started making them with cheaper parts. The components are identical to Gretsch Customs except for the shells which are slightly thicker.
Why am I selling them? Because I’m thinning my drum set herd down to one set; my ‘72 Ludwig Super Classic 5 piece kit in Oyster black pearl bowling ball pattern. I’ll be adding those pictures of my kit soon. Please contact me with any questions george@notsomoderndrummer.com, 330 338 6035
